This document is provided with the sole intention to serve as a guide to using MercuryCart. This document is protected by copyright and must not be used other than for the purpose in which it was intended. While every effort has been made to ensure that the information contained within this manual is correct, MercuryCart or any staff, agents or other parties working on behalf of MercuryCart can not be held responsible for errors or omissions. As new features are added this manual is updated, therefore always ensure that you are referancing the lastest manual.

First we would like to thank you for allowing us the opportunity to service your e-commerce needs; our sole aim is to provide you with a first class shopping cart solution and customer support. MercuryCart was developed as a total solution, and provides an excellent e-commerce platform with very little configuration required, making it an excellent choice even for the novice web designer. Those who are a little more familiar with HTML and CSS can achieve a look that is totally unique to their web site, and because of the way in which MercuryCart is built nearly any custom modification can be implemented upon request.
MercuryCart can be configured the way you want it to be to create a shopping cart that is unique to your business, for a fraction of the cost that a custom built cart would be.
MercuryCart is an e-commerce system that integrates with an existing website or can be implemented at any time during the development stage. Your site does not have to be designed around the shopping cart and is not limited by the design restraints imposed by template driven shopping carts. You can now design your site however you wish, and configure MercuryCart to match your design creating a visually seamless integration. By utilizing many of the features within MercuryCart the whole concept of e-commerce becomes a painless and simple operation even for a novice web designer.
Why is MercuryCart so Flexible?
Each customer’s cart is built on one core set of code. No two customers share the same code. This in essence allows the customer to have their cart modified to suit their exact needs and ensures that MercuryCart can grow with their online business. Most shopping carts share a single code base between existing customers; while this seems an acceptable practice it makes customization extremely difficult and is often limited and expensive. MercuryCart offers the benefits of a custom built e-commerce solution without the expense or worry about managing a secure database online.
Not only can MercuryCart match the look and feel of any existing web site, it can also be tailored to match the needs of your business. You can even have your own secure certificate, without the need to run your own server; this removes the headache of dealing with all the security / maintenance issues and server / software upgrades.
MercuryCart is a hosted solution, all the administration is carried out online and the downloading or installing of any software is not required. We would strongly advise that you read this manual at least once.
Prerequisites
This manual presumes that the website creator has a working knowledge of basic HTML; and while not essential, an understanding of CSS would also be useful.
The use of a HTML editor is not needed to use MercuryCart however the adding of forms and other HTML elements to your own pages will be made much simpler by the utilization of one will make your life much easier. We would recommend one of the following:
